TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FROM SENIORS AT HOME -For the reasonable cost of $6.00 each way, you can have personalized one-to-one pick up and drop off to anywhere in Arnprior and Braeside. Book 9 trips and your 10th trip is FREE! The Seniors at Home provide trained, caring, compassionate, courteous drivers and will ensure you safely arrive at your destination and back home again – they will walk you from door to door, even help you with groceries, bags, walker or assist you to ensure you arrive safely, where you need to be. Their service is not done! Until December 31, 2019, New Clients receive their first ride for free!
SALC partners with Seniors at Home to offer ½ price transportation services to any SALC Programs and events, so be sure to mention this when you book your ride.
Have a medical appointment outside Arnprior? Drivers will provide personal one-to-one assistance to you, rates for out-of-town rides are also available, upon request. Specialized Wheel Chair transportation is also available. Whether you are no longer able to or comfortable driving yourself, or you just prefer the ease and security of a transportation service, give Seniors at Home a call, (613) 623-7981. “Making your life easier”
SALC Newsletter - Do you have a creative bent that is eager to get out?? The SALC Newsletter is seeking volunteers to help with ideas, writing, and layout for the April/May issue. This is a great way to engage members, give our SALC voice and provide a platform for others to know what we are doing. A great way to express that creative urge!! No Vulnerable Sector Check required. Anyone interested should contact Laurel Reid at [email protected] or contact the SALC.

2020/21 Memberships: We are now taking renewals for the memberships covering April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021.
The membership fees for 2020/21 are as follows:
Yearly - $35.00 + HST = $39.55
6 months - $25.00 + HST = $28.25
3 months - $15.00 + HST = $16.95
These new rates will also allow us to accept new members at any time of our operating year.
As an added incentive for anyone renewing priority to April 1, 2020, you will be entered into a draw for a free one-year membership!
Membership entitles you to participate in organized programs or drop-in activities at any time that the SALC is open. The Centre provides a place for social, educational and recreational programs.
Note that there is an additional membership form and monthly fee for the Men's Shed.

Program ideas?
We welcome suggestions for new programs! Do you have an idea for a program or activity at the SALC? Are you interested in leading a program activity at the SALC? Please let us know.Photography: Frank Dugal is a self-taught, life-long photographer whose first love is photographing people (in fact, for a number of years, he spent his weekends photographing weddings and special events). Frank, who has been shooting digital since 1998, was the founding co-leader of the RA Photo Club Digital Group and the president of the Orléans Photo Club and the leader of its digital group. He is a member of the Kanata Seniors Centre Camera Club and the Arnprior Photo Club. Frank believes photography is a school from which you never graduate, it's a continual learning process.
Yoga: Allison Donnelly (Amrita) is the owner of Rising Lotus Yoga in Arnprior. Allison has been a registered yoga instructor and practitioner for over 8 years. She specializes in chair yoga. Allison has a degree in psychology from Carleton University.
Fitness: Krista Jefferies is currently a full-time pool assistant with the Town of Arnprior at the Nick Smith Centre and is involved with fitness programs both in the pool and in the community hall. She has a diploma in Recreation, she is a Certified Personal Trainer and Older Adult Fitness Specialist with Canfitpro, a Red Cross instructor, Lifesaving Society instructor, Certified Aquafitness instructor, and National Lifeguard instructor and examiner.
Creative Writing: Patricia Josefchak has several passions, including her marriage and family, history, music, and their home and garden on a tiny slice of lakefront in Eastern Ontario. She has her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and her master’s degree in management science, both from the University of Waterloo.

The Centre is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday and on occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
