The Board of Directors of Arnprior Regional Health is seeking individuals to serve on its volunteer skills-based board.

As an ARH Board Director, you will have the unique opportunity to use your expertise to shape the future of local healthcare and make a difference in the well-being of our community. 

Arnprior Regional Health is a regional leader in innovative care delivery. Encompassing Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital, The Grove Long-Term Care Home and Community Programs, ARH provides exemplary emergency, acute and long-term health care to the residents of Arnprior and surrounding communities.  

The Board is seeking engaged leaders with governance experience and skills in the following areas: 

  • Finance: Accounting, Banking, Audit Function, governance of financial oversight  
  • Human Resources & Legal  
  • Information Technology 

ARH seeks a Board with diverse identifications to effectively represent the community we serve. We are looking for Directors with experience to help facilitate thoughtful discussions, add unique perspectives, and help to make sound, equitable decisions. 

Your impact 

Ontario is the only Canadian province where hospitals are directed by an independent, voluntary governance structure – this exceptionally important role is mandated by the Public Hospitals Act. 

The Board provides essential leadership, stewardship, and oversight to ARH, sets the strategic direction, and monitors organizational and strategic risk. As a Director, you will play a key leadership role for the organization as a whole, represent ARH in the wider community, and engage with stakeholders. 

Time commitment and expectations 

As a Board Director, you will: 

  • Attend and participate in all Board and Committee meetings. 
  • Occasionally attend ARH and Board social events.  

As a Board Director, you can expect to spend between 10 and 15 hours a month preparing for and attending Board and Committee meetings.  

Board Meetings take place on the third Thursday of every month from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. (excluding July and August). Committees of the Board include Resources Planning, Governance and Quality.

Recommendations of the Governance Committee must be approved by the Board of Directors before successful candidates may be notified.
