New Parking Infrastructure and Rates Coming to ARH

Arnprior, ON — September 12, 2025 — Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) is introducing a modernized parking system this October that will make parking at the hospital easier, faster, and more flexible for patients, visitors, and staff.

The new system will feature updated entry and exit gates, a streamlined traffic flow, and the convenience of cashless payments right at the gate or at new pay-on-foot stations inside the hospital. Patients and visitors will also benefit from a new graduated rate structure, meaning short visits of less than 90 minutes won’t cost the full daily maximum.

“By modernizing our system, we’re making it easier for patients and families to come to ARH while ensuring parking revenues continue to support safe, reliable hospital services and infrastructure,” said Jeremy Stevenson, President and CEO of ARH.

Key Improvements for Patients and Visitors

  • Cashless convenience — pay by debit or credit at the exit gate or at indoor stations within the Hospital. Cash payments will still be available at Switchboard in the Emergency Department, if required.
  • New graduated daily rates — free for the first 15 minutes, $3 for up to 30 minutes, $4 for up to an hour, $5 for up to 90 minutes, and $6 maximum for the day.
  • In-and-out privileges — available through a new day pass option.
  • Multi-day passes — 5, 10, and 30-day passes are now available for non-consecutive day use, valid for up to a year.
  • Improved traffic flow  — making it easier to get in and out of the lot.

This is the first adjustment to ARH’s parking rates in more than 10 years. Even with the coming changes, ARH remains one of the most affordable hospitals in the region.

Parking revenues are a critical source of funding for the hospital’s capital equipment and infrastructure and operating expenses not covered by the Ministry of Health, including year-round lot maintenance (snow clearing, paving, and repairs).

The new parking system is scheduled to go live in mid-October. More details to follow.
