February 6, 2026 – Public Health has declared a gastrointestinal illness outbreak on our Hospital’s Inpatient Unit (IPU).
What we’re doing:
- Patients with symptoms are being cared for in a separate isolation area to reduce the risk of spread
- Enhanced cleaning and disinfection measures are in place
- Our Infection Prevention and Control team is closely monitoring the situation
What visitors should know:
- Visitors are not permitted for patients in the isolation area
- Hand hygiene is especially important: please wash your hands with soap and water – alcohol-based sanitizer is not effective for these illnesses.
