Finance Team changes include Emerging Leader promotion

The winter brought a couple of exciting changes to the ARH Finance Team, with the addition of Keith Oattes as Accounts Receivable & Payroll Clerk and the promotion of a long-time employee and Emerging Leader grad, Sarah Lacasse, to Manager of Finance.

“We have an excellent Finance Department, and with these important changes, our team is excited to continue to support ARH with the best possible services,” said Jeff Letourneau, VP, Finance and Support Services, and Chief Financial Officer, ARH.

Sarah Lacasse, Manager of Finance

Sarah considers herself lucky to work and live in the community she grew up in. She has been with ARH for more than 13 years and is a 2022 graduate of the Emerging Leaders Program.

Jeff said: “Sarah has been a key leader on the Finance Team, demonstrating a deep knowledge of financial management, accounting, financial systems, and Ontario Health funding

and reporting. We are fortunate to have Sarah as part of our team, and I am delighted that we can continue to support her leadership progression within our organization.”

Sarah’s accounting career began in the manufacturing industry. Eventually, it led her to Queensway Carleton Hospital, where she worked on implementing the Meditech Financials System at multiple hospital sites, including ARH.

She counts herself lucky that ARH has supported her career development since starting in 2010: “ARH has given me the opportunity to attend many in-person and online conferences covering various healthcare topics related to my position. I have also received The Employee Bursary Fund to assist with continuing education, and, most recently, I graduated from the Emerging Leaders Program that helped me develop new leadership skills I hope to build on in my new position.”

Sarah added: “My focus is to be an  effective mentor and work collaboratively with the Finance team and interdepartmentally to find innovative solutions that improve workload and workflows.”

Keith Oattes, Accounts Receivable & Payroll Clerk

Keith grew up in the Cobden area and started his career with TD Bank. He later joined Boeing in Arnprior, taking on various roles in their Accounting Department for close to 30 years.

Keith made the big decision to shift his career to health care and started with the ARH Finance Team in February 2023.

“I was toying with the idea of retirement, but the enjoyment of being out amongst people made me gravitate towards this opportunity,” said Keith. “It’s certainly a different world. I spent my career working in a manufacturing facility, so I’ve had to learn new terminology, software, and processes. But I’m getting some traction now and enjoying it.”

Jeff shared: “We are pleased to have Keith on our team. He brings a depth of experience in accounts receivables and payroll functions, as well as general accounting and financial management skills. Keith has already proven to be a strong addition to our organization.”

Keith has lived in Arnprior for about 35 years, but employee onboarding was one of his first touchpoints with the organization.

“ARH has been a very welcoming environment,” said Keith. “You really get a genuine sense of welcome when you meet people here.”
