Employee engagement survey results put Arnprior Regional Health ahead of peer hospitals
The results are in: Arnprior Regional Health’s overall employee engagement score is 72.3%.
“We are pleased that our overall engagement results rank higher than our peer hospital average, but we will continue to find ways to improve our organizational culture and employee experience,” said Eric Hanna, President and CEO, ARH. “We know when our employees are engaged, we provide better patient/resident/client care experiences and improved clinical results for our community.”
The survey was administered by NRC Health, a third-party organization that provides employee engagement feedback and metrics. It is a key opportunity for ARH staff to anonymously share insights about their employee experience, and it informs how ARH can improve its culture.
Key areas that improved from last year include:
- alignment of employees’ values with the organizations
- respect in the workplace
- helping each other at work
“Our employees are paramount to creating a healthy community and these survey results provide invaluable insight into how ARH can enable our teams to do their best work for our patients, clients, residents and their families,” said Hanna.
Based on employee feedback and approval from the Board of Directors, this fiscal year ARH will focus on increasing the positive responses on the question “Organization inspires best job performance” by 2% over the 2018/19 survey results by March 31, 2020.
This will be done by managers and senior leadership working with staff to ensure:
- more employee feedback is heard via increased Leader Rounding on Employees
- more recognition of employees’ achievements and contributions
Additionally, employee focus groups will be held to help ARH reach this 2019-20 goal.
