Dr. Florin Padeanu appointed new Chief of Staff
March 2, 2022 – Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) has appointed Dr. Florin Padeanu as the Hospital’s new Chief of Staff beginning January 1, 2022. Dr. Padeanu takes over from Dr. Christine Schriver who served 11 years in the leadership role.
“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Padeanu to the Chief of Staff role. He is a strong collaborator in our organization’s commitment to continue enhancing the quality care we provide our community,” said Leah Levesque, President and CEO, ARH. “On behalf of the organization, I would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Schriver for her many years of exceptional medical leadership in addition to her family practice.”
In April 2020, Dr. Padeanu and his wife, Dr. Julie Ridgen, relocated from Winnipeg to Arnprior (Dr. Ridgen’s hometown). In addition to providing care on the Hospital’s Inpatient Unit, Dr. Padeanu practices family medicine at the Tall Pines Clinic, which is part of the Arnprior and District Family Health Team.
“I joined the Arnprior group of physicians just as COVID was setting in,” shared Dr. Padeanu. “It has been a challenge starting to practice in a new community while at the same time implementing new virtual tools for patient care. However, working on the Inpatient Unit at the Hospital provided continuity of direct patient care during a time when healthcare resources were stretched thin.”
Through working at the Hospital, Dr. Padeanu also developed an interest in the Hospital’s administrative processes, which led him to apply for the Chief of Staff position.
“My overall priority as Chief of Staff is to maintain and hopefully improve the already high quality of care that our community receives from Arnprior Regional Health,” said Dr. Padeanu. “I hope to provide workable solutions to areas identified as needing improvement while balancing the needs of the community with the resources of the Hospital.”
After working as a lawyer, Dr. Padeanu completed his medical degree at The University of Manitoba and residency in family medicine in Winnipeg. He was a part owner and ran a large medical clinic in Winnipeg for 12 years.
