Arnprior Regional Health Board appoints three new directors

July 18, 2023 – The Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) Board of Directors is pleased to appoint three new board directors and celebrate the contributions of outgoing board directors Erin Stitt-Cavanagh and Bob McGaraughty.

“Our Board has benefitted tremendously from Erin and Bob’s experience, leadership, and contributions,” said Cathy Jordan, Chair, Board of Directors. “Erin served on our Board for seven years, stepping into leadership roles throughout her tenure, including Vice-Chair of the Board, Chair of the Quality Committee, and Co-Chair of the Seniors’ Village Committee. Her full engagement in our Board work and commitment to improving local health care has been invaluable.”

Cathy added:

“We had the good fortune of welcoming Bob to the Board in 2022. He came to our team with extensive governance experience and was instrumental in providing the insight and knowledge to advance our governance model, including updates to our bylaws. On behalf of the Board, we thank Erin and Bob for their exceptional service to ARH.”

The Board of Directors confirmed three new directors at the 2023 Annual General Meeting: Richard Holock, Peter Kenny, and Borys Koba.

Richard (Rick) Holock is a retired business owner and community leader who lives in Arnprior. He brings to the Board of Directors an impressive career in benefits consulting and strong community engagement track record through his volunteer roles. As part of his professional life, Rick oversaw benefits consulting agencies as President and Principal, including work with hospitals, school boards, post-secondary institutions, and municipal governments. After retiring in 2010, Rick has dedicated much of his spare time to supporting seniors active living in the Calabogie area. Rick will serve on the Board of Directors for a three-year term.

Peter (Pete) Kenny has called Arnprior home throughout his life and is deeply connected to the community. Pete works as an executive overseeing operations for M. Sullivan & Son Limited, a construction company headquartered in Arnprior. With an established background in institutional construction and decades of experience in project management, Pete brings to the Board of Directors valuable insight and a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in infrastructure development and corporate governance. Pete will serve on the Board of Directors for a one-year term.

Borys Koba is a retired public servant with a formal electrical and nuclear engineering education. He spent the first half of his career in the private sector, from consulting to academia to high tech. In the second half of his professional life, he worked at an executive level with the Government of Canada. Borys lives in Stittsville, and in his retirement, he takes on part-time consulting engagements to provide independent project reviews within the federal government. Borys will serve on the Board of Directors for a three-year term.

The ARH Board of Directors consists of volunteer directors responsible for the oversight of ARH and is accountable for the corporation’s Vision, Mission, and Values; strategic planning; financial stewardship; quality of care performance monitoring; and communications with stakeholders.
