ARH Welcomes First CT Scan Patient

December 5, 2024 Arnprior – Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) celebrated a major milestone on December 3, 2024, as the first patient received a CT scan using the hospital’s newly installed state-of-the-art equipment. This moment marks the beginning of a new era of enhanced, patient-centered diagnostic care for Arnprior and surrounding areas.
“This is a tremendous step forward for Arnprior Regional Health and the patients we serve,” said Jeremy Stevenson, President and CEO. “Having this state-of-the-art technology on-site means improved access, faster diagnoses, and better health outcomes for our community.”
The new CT suite was thoughtfully designed to maximize efficiency and make the best use of existing space within the Diagnostic Imaging department. To make room for the new CT Suite, the Auxiliary’s Gift Shop moved to a new location by Entrance C, and a new Bone Density Suite was created in that space. The CT Suite construction included bathrooms, changing rooms, a new reception and waiting room configuration for Diagnostic Imaging, and more. In the first full year of operations, ARH expects to perform up to 6,000 patient CT scans, which will directly improve local patient care and help alleviate regional backlogs.
“This new CT scanner provides improved access to care close to home,” said Vicki Hallas, Diagnostic Imaging Manager at ARH. “It reduces the need for patients to travel long distances for critical imaging services, decreasing stress and ensuring faster, more seamless care for patients and their families.”
The addition of the CT scanner was made possible thanks to the generosity of community members, businesses, and organizations who supported the fundraising campaign, which has now reached 95% of its $2.2 million goal. To bring the campaign to a close, a $40,000 donation matching opportunity is currently underway, doubling the impact of every dollar contributed.
Patients who require CT imaging will now benefit from reduced wait times and convenient access to this essential service.
Arnprior Regional Health extends its gratitude to the community, staff, and partners who supported this initiative. The organization remains committed to investing in innovative solutions that enhance the quality and accessibility of care.
