Ontario government announces additional funding for Arnprior Regional Health that will enhance care for community

October 22, 2019 – The Minister of Health has announced that all 66 small Ontario hospitals, including Arnprior Regional Health (ARH), will receive an additional  one per cent funding increase to alleviate resourcing pressures.

“Our government is committed to ending hallway health care for Ontarians,” said John Yakabuski, MPP, Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke. “The increased investment will provide additional financial support for small and medium-sized hospitals, such as Arnprior Regional Health, that have been faced with long-standing funding inequities, and allow these hospitals to provide improved access to quality care.”

The increased funding for ARH will go directly to providing necessary resources to augment existing programs to ensure quality care and services.

“We are pleased with the Ontario government’s commitment to working with small hospitals throughout the province to identify new ways to alleviate the pressures felt by our health-care professionals, physicians, patients, and families,” said Eric Hanna, President and CEO, ARH. “Our community has an aging population that has resulted in an increased demand for more complex care and services.  This additional funding will allow us to invest in additional resources to meet this need as we continue to deliver excellent care for our community.”

ARH receives funding from the Ontario government to cover operational costs to deliver care and services. This funding does not support new capital equipment, i.e. medical technology, or capital improvements, i.e. the Grove Nursing Home.
