Eric Hanna: Retiring after 13 years at the helm of ARH

When President and CEO Eric Hanna reflects on his 13 years with Arnprior Regional Health (ARH), it is his final milestone – the grand opening of the new Grove – that will be his fondest memory.

Eric Hanna at The Grove Grand Opening Event on September 24, 2021.

“The Grove Grand Opening was a celebration of the efforts of the entire community – a journey that I had the privilege helping lead since my start with ARH,” shared Eric. “It will always be an unforgettable career accomplishment that I proudly share with the ARH team and Arnprior community.”

Eric retires after a 35-year career dedicated to healthcare leadership across the region with a recognized impact on spearheading strategic partnerships and innovative approaches to healthcare delivery.

“I had a very strong interest in working for a complex small hospital, like ARH, that offers more than just acute services,” said Eric, who moved from Queensway Carleton Hospital to ARH in 2008. “I also knew many of the staff and board directors and their exceptional dedication to the organization.”

Over his 13 years at ARH, Eric’s top achievements are the Arnprior & District Family Health Team approval, the grand opening of the new Grove, and the commitment and success of identifying opportunities to engage patients, residents, and clients in designing ARH’s services.

“ARH has built a very strong reputation of exemplary care and as a great place to work. Our ARH Team is focused on responding to the changing needs of the community while also providing safe care and an excellent experience. While challenges will always arise, we have overcome many in the past and we have learned how to respond to new challenges.”

While Eric will miss his day-to-day at ARH, retirement will allow him to spend more time at the lake, build more furniture in his workshop and he expects he will find another opportunity to assist a healthcare organization achieve their vision.

Eric’s last day at ARH is Thursday, September 30, 2021
