Celebrating CT Scan with Ribbon Cutting

January 28, 2025 Arnprior, ON – Yesterday, Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) celebrated a major milestone with the ribbon cutting for its new CT scanner, a vital addition that enhances local access to advanced diagnostic imaging. The event also marked the achievement of the “Come Together” fundraising campaign, which officially reached 100% of its $2.2 million goal, thanks to the incredible support of the community.

The celebration brought together healthcare professionals, community leaders, and donors who played a pivotal role in making the CT scan project a reality.

Jeremy Stevenson, President and CEO of Arnprior Regional Health, emphasized the impact of the milestone.

“This new CT scanner is a testament to the generosity of our community and our commitment to delivering exceptional care.” said Stevenson. “In the month of December, the first month of operation, almost 400 patients benefitted from the CT Scan. That is almost 400 patients who were able to receive first class care, right here in Arnprior.”

John Yakabuski, MPP for Renfrew–Nipissing–Pembroke, on his self-proclaimed last visit to ARH as MPP, also attended the event and commended the collective efforts of the Arnprior community.

“Arnprior Regional Health has always been a cornerstone of this region, and the addition of this vital equipment is yet another example of its commitment to outstanding patient care,” Yakabuski said.

Ben Gardiner, Executive Director of the ARH Foundation, announced the exciting news that the campaign has officially reached 100% of its goal. “This is a moment for everyone in this community to feel proud,” said Gardiner. “Every single donation has brought us here today. Together, we’ve ensured that Arnprior Regional Health has the tools it needs to deliver excellent care for generations to come.”

Maggie Harbert, President of the ARH Auxiliary, spoke as one of the campaign’s largest donors. “Our thriving Auxiliary has grown to over 165 members, and through our Gift Shop and Opportunity Shop, we raised $480,000—an impressive 21.8% of the campaign goal,” said Harbert. “This achievement is a testament to our volunteers’ tireless dedication and to the power of investing time, effort, and heart into our community. Last year alone, our members logged over 20,000 volunteer hours across the hospital, The Grove, and our shops. The CT scanner is here today because of our caring and generous community, and we are honored to play our part.”

The new CT scanner will allow ARH to provide advanced imaging services locally, reducing the need for patients to travel out of town for diagnostic tests. This is a critical step forward for the hospital in its mission to provide accessible, high-quality care.

The ribbon cutting concluded with a tour of the new CT suite, giving attendees a glimpse of the cutting-edge technology that will now serve the region.
