Arnprior Regional Health celebrates staff and physicians’ excellence and service a little differently this year

Last spring, COVID-19 threw a wrench into the event plans for the Annual Employee and Physician Service Recognition and Awards—and they were postponed until the fall.

With a bit of creativity and a few new twists, the revised Service Recognition and Awards were hosted differently (but safely) last week as a chance to spotlight excellence and acknowledge the valuable service of many employees and physicians. The week of celebrations included treats, refreshments and meals and individuals received their awards and service milestone pins in their work areas.

Mathew Hamlyn, Pharmacist, was the Hospital’s recipient of this year’s Rising Star Award and shared that he was proud to learn the news.

“ARH is welcoming – a lot like the town and people of Arnprior itself. Since day one, I’ve felt part of the team,” explained Matthew. “I am grateful to be able to continue doing the work I love, and it is especially rewarding to do so alongside dedicated staff. There is something special about the pride that comes from being a resident of Arnprior and working at the local hospital. I hope I am working here for a long time!”

Sarah Lacasse, Financial Analyst, was this year’s HART Award recipient for the Hospital – an award given to an individual who demonstrates the ARH values: Honesty, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork.

“I feel very privileged to be part of ARH and a great team of talented and professional people,” said Sarah Lacasse, Financial Analyst. “I love the challenges my position offers and the opportunity for continuous

learning as ARH grows. I was very honoured to receive this award knowing I work in an environment where there are so many deserving employees.”

Judith Gilchrist, Director of Care, Grove Nursing Home was honoured with the Leadership Excellence Award.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the most challenging experiences of my career,” reflected Judith. “I am proud of the way the Grove staff have remained calm, caring, and compassionate through this very different and difficult time. I am very honoured to have been chosen for this award and humbled by the comments shared by those who nominated me.”
