ARH Will Transition to Epic for Enhanced Patient Care
January 13, 2025 –Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) is taking a major step forward in patient care by transitioning our electronic health record (EHR) system to Epic as part of the Atlas Alliance—a regional collaboration led by The Ottawa Hospital and other Eastern Ontario healthcare partners.
This transition ensures ARH remains at the forefront of healthcare technology, enhancing your experience as a patient and providing better tools for our team.
What is Epic?
Epic is a powerful digital health information system that securely stores, organizes, and provides access to patient health records. It replaces older systems made up of multiple electronic and paper-based records.
With Epic:
- Patients get better access to their own health information, including test results and treatment plans, through tools like MyChart.
- Providers have the information they need at their fingertips, enabling safer, more coordinated, and more efficient care.
Epic ensures seamless access to health information, leading to a better experience for both patients and care teams.
Why now?
This move aligns ARH with leading hospitals in the region. By adopting Epic now, ARH ensures we are part of a sustainable, future-ready healthcare platform that prioritizes both patients and providers.
The project will begin in early 2025 with an expected go live in late 2026. We’re excited to deliver this enhanced level of care to the Arnprior community.
