ARH Board of Directors Appoints New Chair

July 3, 2024 – After serving as the Chair of the Arnprior Regional Health (ARH) Board of Directors for three years, Cathy Jordan has completed her final year as Board Chair, and will continue to provide leadership as a member of the Board of Directors. After the 2024 Annual General Meeting, the ARH Board of Directors has appointed Oliver Jacob as the new Board Chair to serve for a three-year term until June 2027.

“I have had so much to be thankful for in my term as Board Chair,” says Cathy. “I have had the pleasure of working with a very dedicated board team and staff who live our HEART values every day. I also had the privilege of working with Leah Levesque, our newly retired CEO, from the very beginning. We have all accomplished some incredible milestones together, and I know that ARH has a truly bright future.”

During her tenure, Cathy helped to establish a new Strategic Plan and Integrated Risk Management Framework that will guide ARH in the years to come. She has successfully guided ARH through three challenging years including the ongoing challenges of COVID-19, and a cyber breach. Her leadership has been instrumental as ARH works towards the opening of a CT Scan machine and a redevelopment plan for the old Grove Nursing Home building.

“Cathy has provided thoughtful and principled leadership alongside our recently retired President and CEO, Leah Levesque,” says Oliver Jacob, newly appointed ARH Board Chair. “Their shared leadership has placed ARH in an enviable position of strength and their work has undoubtedly led to better care for our patients, residents, clients and their families. I am very grateful for Cathy’s leadership and her continued support as we enter new roles.”

Cathy and Oliver have worked closely over the past year to lay the groundwork for a smooth transition, both for the Board and for staff as ARH welcomes new CEO Jeremy Stevenson in August.

“I am honoured to have been elected as the Chair of the ARH Board of Directors,” says Oliver Jacob. “The role of the Board Chair is to bring people together and it is my hope that the next three years will be an opportunity to contribute collaboratively with the Board of Directors, Senior Management Team, ARH staff across the organization, and supporters throughout community as we work hard to achieve our vision of building a thriving community together.”
