ARH Appoints Pierre Noel as Interim President and CEO

July 9, 2026 – The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Noel as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arnprior Regional Health (ARH), effective July 13, 2026.

With more than 30 years of executive experience, Pierre brings a deep understanding of both hospital and long-term care operations. A lifelong Ottawa Valley resident, Pierre served as President and CEO of the Pembroke Regional Hospital for 16 years, including five years where he concurrently led the Mattawa Hospital and Algonquin Nursing Home. During that time, he oversaw significant organizational renewal, including the development of new surgical facilities, the creation of a Family Medicine Teaching Unit in partnership with the University of Ottawa, and the achievement of Accreditation with Exemplary Standing.

Since retiring in 2022 after a distinguished health care leadership career, Pierre has continued to support hospitals in times of transition. Most recently, Pierre served as Interim President and CEO at both The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre and Renfrew Victoria Hospital, successfully guiding those organizations while they undertook recruitment campaigns.

As ARH continues important work to strengthen care delivery, prepare for Accreditation in 2027, and implement its new Epic electronic medical record system, the Board is confident that Pierre’s experience, leadership and commitment to person-centred care will help to ensure stability and continuity during the ongoing recruitment of a permanent President and CEO.

“Pierre is a highly respected health care leader whose experience leading complex organizations and supporting hospitals through periods of transition makes him exceptionally well suited for this role,” said Oliver Jacob, Chair of the ARH Board of Directors. “We are grateful that he has agreed to join ARH at this important time. His knowledge of the health care sector, combined with his strong roots in the Ottawa Valley, will help us maintain momentum on our strategic priorities while continuing to deliver safe, high-quality care for our patients, residents, clients and their families.”

“I am excited to have this opportunity to lead the ARH team during this period of transition,” said Pierre Noel. “Arnprior Regional Health has a long history of providing exceptional care for its patients, residents and clients while being a regional leader for keeping rural health care close to home. It will be a great honour to lead this incredible team as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of health care innovation and service to the Greater Arnprior community.”

The Board also extends its sincere appreciation to Raeline McGrath for serving as Acting President and CEO during the few weeks while continuing in her role as Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Executive. The Board is grateful for her leadership and dedication during this time.
