Information for Residents

Please note: A handbook containing all the information needed for residents is available in the business office at the Grove.

Long- term care is a provincially funded and regulated health care service that exists as part of the province's publictly funded healthcare delivery system.  Access to a long-term care home is based on assessed health care need, not ability to pay.  There is a resident co-payment, but government susidizes this cost for those resident who need the care but cannot afford to pay.

The Community Care Aceess Centre deterrmines who is eligible to be placed in long-term care homes, manages the wait lists and coordinates placement. They can be reached at http://healthcareathome.ca/champlain/en
